Just as Lukas had planned, the two of you were on a ship headed for England within the hour. It was fortunate for the both of you that your home town was also a port.

However, for a moment, it seemed that this little escape plan of Lukas's was doomed before you even set foot on the ship.

The eldest brother, the tall intimidating redhead, seemed to be expecting Lukas, but had not planned on you joining. He saw Lukas approach and started shouting orders to his crew who were, from the looks of it, almost entirely made up of his younger brothers. His voice was stern and face clearly showed his lack of sleep, however, he did well to hold his head up high and fight the drowsiness until his job was done. Looking back and forth between Lukas and his crew, you took notice that he didn't look directly at you, but when he did catch sight of your timid form in tow behind Lukas, irritation quickly flooded his emerald eyes.

He approached the two of you and began to converse with Lukas in his native tongue. You couldn't understand a single word, but it was easy to see that the tall redhead had an issue with you coming along. Your grip on Lukas's hand grew tighter as the conversation became heated. The redheads voice began to raise with each word that passed threw his mouth while Lukas remained as calm as ever.

Their conversation picked up and caught the attention of the crew, some of who's work had come to a halt to observe their captain tell off the Järls son. For a moment, you believed his loud voice might attract someone from the village and ruin your escape, but thankfully it didn't go on for too long.

"And just what do you think you're doin' bringing her along?!" You jumped at the sound of the foreign voice. The fact that you couldn't understand his words didn't help either.

"I've already told you I was bringing someone else with me. You have your money so what's the problem?"

"You think I don't know who she is, boy? You think I don't know yours and hers family history? Having one runaway noble is a risky enough, but now I have two to deal with? If her father knew we're even meetin' like this--"

"The only way he'll find out is if you keep raising your voice you damn fool!" It took all he had for Lukas not to raise his own. (Name) was nervous enough as it was, and if the conversation grew any louder the whole village would wake up. "I'll pay double for her. Just keep that loud mouth of yours shut, and no one will ever know."

The red-heads nostrils flared as he huffed and crossed his arms. He had an excellent relationship with both runway's fathers and knew all to well that their little get away could jeopardize his business.

"Fine," he huffed, "keep your money, she can come. Just see to it she stays out of the way."

Lukas nodded and turned back to you. Your head was hanging low and your grip was not letting up. "(Name)," Lukas whispers, returning to his native tongue, "it's alright. There was a misunderstanding, but everything is fine now."

You cautiously raised your head, and saw the tall red-head walking away. "What was the problem?" You asked, "Was it about me?"

Lukas leaned down and kissed the top of your head. He rarely smiled, and when he did you would barely catch the end of it. This time, his lips held the smile just for you. "Don't worry about it. Just a mix up is all." Lukas turned around, his face returning to its norm, and he followed the captain onto the ship, holding your hand the whole way.

The red-headed captain continued to shout orders at his men, and it wasn't long before the ship set sail. The port and your hometown grew smaller by the second, crushing your heart the longer you watched. 'This is for the best...' You said to yourself. 'This is the only way Lukas and I can be together...'
